Tom Gauld’s awesome “Lake Monster” has been one of our favourite monsters ever since we first saw it in the Beasts! book published by Fantagraphics back in 2008.
(By the way, if you like monsters and you haven’t seen either volume of the Beasts! books, then you are in for a real treat.)

Book Cover: Stamboul Train

Another of my book cover self project. This time Graham Greene’s Stamboul Train. I rather dislike the style of illustration that goes with the original book [2nd picture] and I tried a few variations on the covers design as you can see at the bottom of the post. I ended with my simpler form with train tracks and an outline of Istanbul’s most famous landmark, at the top of the post. I used Adobe’s InDesign and Illustrator.
